(12/4/12) WOW!!!!! Great concert South Sabre Cat Band!!!! You rock! You worked hard and it showed! Keep up the great work – I can’t wait to hear what you’ll sound like by the end of the year! 🙂
You are about to start on an exciting adventure into the “Band World” of fun!
Learning to play an instrument allows you to be creative when you make music, strengthens “brain power” (no kidding – research proves this!), is a wonderful social outlet, helps you learn the discipline it takes to be “excellent,” is a good work-out (uses just as much calories as an athlete when you do it right!), and on top of all that…..it’s fun!!!!!!!
Congratulations for taking the first step by STARTING! You will probably have lots of questions – please don’t hesitate to ask! Asking questions is how you learn! You can leave me a message by phone or my mailbox at school, or at my e-mail address (which is probably the best way, since I check it a few times a day), or by leaving a comment here on my website! I want to help you succeed – and I’m concerned that you get your questions answered as soon as possible, so that you can succeed!
Don’t let me fool you though! It will take some careful planning to make sure you put in the time and effort needed. But….the results are SO WORTH IT!
Go for it, my friends! Here’s to a great year of band! 🙂
Here’s the newsletter I handed out at our first large group meeting: 1st 5th grade newsletter South
