If you are a current member in seventh grade, you just need to be a member in good standing (GPA of 3.0 or higher, attendance at all club meetings and 20+ service hours completed) in order to be a member next school year. There is no need to reapply.
If you are a sixth or seventh grader that has never been a member before, please be sure to stop in to Mrs. Kivley’s (room 2) or Mrs. Campisi’s (room 4) room to pick up an application and three recommendation forms. You will need the signed parent permission form, three completed recommendations and to write the NJHS application essay. This essay must be written at school. Essay writing sessions will be held after school from 2:15-4:00 in the LMC on Monday 4/14, Tuesday 4/15 and Thursday 4/17. All application forms, recommendations and essays are due by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday 4/17.
Attention! The all club, MANDATORY walk-a-thon benefiting A to Z Literacy, will be held on Wednesday May 28 at Lundahl Middle School. This event will be hosted by and done in conjunction with the Lundahl chapter of NJHS. Pizza, water and a t-shirt will be provided. The signed parent permission form is due by Thursday 4/17 and all donations collected are due by the date of the walk-a-thon.
The next general meeting will be held Thursday April 10. We will be discussing the May walk-a-thon for A to Z Literacy. Attendance, as with all general meetings, is mandatory!

A reminder!!!!! When you are volunteering, you are not only representing NJHS, but also Bernotas Middle School. This should go without saying, but you are to conduct yourself accordingly at all times. Be polite, be respectful and take initiative. If you don’t know what to do, ask! Finished with a task? Find someone that needs help! You are NEVER to leave your shift early or “goof around” with your friends. You are there to work and to help. Though the great majority of our members do this, we have received a few complaints and d not want to ever run in to this issue again. Thank you so much for being the respectful and responsible students we know you to be.
Peer Tutoring MANDATORY – at least one – 3 week term, M., T., & Th.
Peer Tutoring runs only on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays. Students may go to Tenth Inning after Peer Tutoring and take the Activity Bus home at 4:15 on these days.
** If your son/daughter is in after school jazz band or plays every sports season, please have them see Mrs. Campisi or Mrs. Kivley to set up his or her Peer Tutoring Rotation **
